On 29 September 2016, ERIO attended a national Roma platform meeting organised by the Belgian National Roma Contact Point in Brussels. The topic of the meeting was Roma’s access to education.

The aim of the meeting was to formulate recommendations for policy makers which can provide some input for the evaluation of the National Roma Integration Strategy.

Small interactive group discussions between participants took place to discuss what is currently working and missing in Belgium in terms of Roma’s access to education and what can be done to improve the situation. During these discussions, the META project was mentioned as an initiative to promote inclusive education systems much needed for the inclusion of Roma children.
